The 2026 House field by the numbers
Plain measures from open data: fundraising, outside spending, tenure and how close the last election was. Every figure has its source and date.
Money in the district races: raised against last margin415 districts
Each dot is a district with a verified November race. Across: how big the winner’s margin was in 2024. Up: money raised by all candidates in the 2026 race (square-root scale). Colour: the party that won in 2024 (blue Democratic, red Republican). Hollow dots: the state drew a new map for 2026, so the 2024 margin describes the old territory. Ranked-choice contests (Alaska, Maine) are left out.
Reported FEC filings through each candidate’s latest report (2026-10-25) and MIT Election Data and Science Lab (CC0). Money raised is not a prediction of the result.

Reported Spend since January 2025 on Google Search, YouTube and display ads, from Google’s public political ads data (fetched 2026-10-25). Only ads on Google platforms (Search, YouTube and display ads) are counted; television, radio, mail, social networks outside Google and other channels are not included, so this is a part of a campaign’s advertising, not the whole. Spend is as reported by Google and rounded.

Reported All figures are FEC totals through each candidate’s latest filing, so reporting periods differ a little; “first elected” comes from the public record of Congress (congress-legislators); 2024 margins from the MIT Election Data and Science Lab (CC0). These are plain measures from open data, not rankings of people.
